Raf Simons for Jil Sander A/W 06-07 Donna

In the morning, I woke up so early, took a trams to the venue, Via Ventura. Quite disappointing, to be honest. Nothing made me feel like I'm being in the premier show of Milano Uomo Moda, neither the debut of Raf Simons for Jil Sander, nothing's special. Anyway, The key of an A/W 06-07 collection is Classic-Avantgarde. Raf combined a look of his own brand with Sander's signature. The result was nothing but the look of minimal 80's. He managed a new silhoutte of a brand to new proportion, and also the honor of Mrs. Sander's sober and minimal, intriguing techno-fabric. A silhouette's looked like a public toilet sign; Boxy top, broaded shoulders and lean bottom. He put on same shoes, same pants through every looks...and unfortunately, no accessories, no bag, no hat, nothing. The show began with the day-wear set, in Raf's shades of grey, followed by the mushroom-tan leather jacket and black double-dart jacket and suits for finale. You couldn't wear a monograph for this collection, just one single piece of nice buttonless-cardigan,stayed in place as if it did have, and keyhole-line-neck sweater (knitwears are so impressive), paired with lean pants or washed bootcut jeans...that's perfect. By the way, why there ain't no tie in this col.???

Top 10

Twenty Something | Jamie Cullum I first met Cullum in the raining boring day. I was looking for some nice album for listening while pre-producing my first fashion show. I asked the seller, she gave me a Neptune covered, Frontin'...I was suddenly falled in love with this guy ['s voice]. It's a Blue Note's crossover wunderkind Norah Jones, with the modern rock tunes. I can hear a happy sound from his singing and playing. Back to my office in Monday lazy morning, I fixed a Cola, sat on my chair, booted my laptop, played Cullum and RELAX!! I had a week to the show...

Track recommend: Frontin'

MMMargiela's White World pt. 1

On Monday, January 9th, 2006. Someone asked me if I wanna go to Pitti Uomo or not. Why considering? My lecturer, Rocco Mannella, had just canceled his Wed morning class, I guessed he went to Pitti as well, so why won't I??? "Si Si Si Ci andiamo". So I packed my own stuffs in new S/S 06 Prada bag and headed to Firenze in Wednesday morning. This Pitti Immagine Uomo 69 had Maison Martin Margiela as a invited designer, created white theme installations, all around Fortezza da Basso.

After showed my first "press" namecard, I given first "press" passcard. Getting all the press stuffs, and tracking the MMM carte blanche, I met creativity events and exhibitions over the duration of the fair. MMM made "a fair in a fair" or a game to be enjoys by the visitors spread throughout the pavilions and outdoor areas of the Fortezza. The series of stands, shops, and facilities, all conceived in many shades of white, typical of MMM.

I decided to looking for the outdoor things first because of the good bright sunshine energized me. A White Flag For Florence; White Flags flied above the mail entrance of the fair. MMM Paper Stand, a typical Italian magazine vendor's kiosk is filled by entirely white contents [see a pic above]. I was offered a map of MMM here. Balloon With A View; White hot air balloon, standed in the main outdoor area of the Fortezza. A White "Work In Progress"; A white outdoor advertising billboard in a shades of white. White Bead Curtains; A series of white bead curtains hung under the setting of the Pitti walkways.
To be continued...

Obviously Classic Smile :)

"If there's a second Monalisa smile, it's Mrs. Miuccia Prada's smile." She smiled as she (always) knows what will you need for next season (and seasonssss). Obviously Classic #01 is a new modern classic white jersey tee, with the super-powerful Prada emblem at the back neck. I bought 2 packs of them, 70 euro each; round-neck and V-neck. I found out they're so incredibly comfortable! This surprise makes me wanna buy new white Prada boxer and also wish Prada would launch more basic product such as vest and sock. Prada's Obviously Classic #01 in this S/S o6 collection.

C I A O

First report...I'm not sure if it's ok Ricardo Tisci is a creative director for Givenchy? I don't mean his creations are suck but...with this talent, he could be the position in the others high brand like Dior or YSL. Why didn't Givenchy support & promote him as they should, like Balenciaga did to Ghesquiere. He started his creative career as a low-profile designer...but with the power of PR and of course, "the motorcycle bag", + Ghesquiere's unlimited creativities = one of the magic 7 of September Vogue US and one of the most influence designer on fashion students. How do you think? If Givenchy do more promote and PR, would Tisci be the next Ghesquiere?
